I bought a Osprey Kestrel 68 second hand online, and I just noticed that the left sternum strap of my backpack fell off. Does anyone know how to remove the chest strap from an Osprey pack? I am trying to take the strap from a new pack to replace a broken one, but both the top and bottom of the track has extra material sewn in that blocks the strap from being removed. In the version of the backpack that I have, the chest strap clips on to a fabric-covered wire (maybe?) that is sewn into the shoulder strap. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I ended up heating it with a blowtorch then using a screwdriver to pry it open / smash the tube down into it.
